Assessment of some morphological and physiological parameters in lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) cultivated in hydroponic system

Lettuce is a valuable leaf vegetable for well-balanced diet, since it rich in nutrient elements, has low calories and provides dietary antioxidants. Compared to soil-based cultivation, the hydroponic system an alternative associated with shortening of growing cycles reduction wasted water amount. The aim this study was analyze growth lettuce plants under soil cultivation systems, during three phenological stages (45; 47 49) according BBCH scale. During different morphological physiological parameters were evaluated: Plant height (PH); Stem diameter (SD); Fresh mass (FM); Dry (DM); Leaf area (LA); Chlorophyll content (CC); Transpiration rate (TR). research carried out using complete randomized design 2 × 3 factorial arrangement stages. Plants grown presented higher values most parameters, except DM TR. had highest effect on PH, SD LA. variation between observed LA CC. Finally, we can conclude that cultivated system, better head weight yield.
